No Blue Screen of Death.

No Phantoms randomly closing your programs

Viruses are a faint memory

Best of all? It's absolutely free

Even better? How about a drop dead introductory deal?

Dear Frustrated Computer User,

My mom just got a new computer. She hates it. Every time I turn around, she's yanking my arm telling me I need to run over to her desk and fix something

Programs stop without any warning. She may or may not be able to get her e-mail. Her virus checker misses every other virus that infects her machine (thanks Norton).

Meanwhile, my computer is humming along smoother than a Walt Disney song. I'm not only finishing my work, but I'm doing half of my mom's as well, simply because her computer sucks.

What's the difference between her machine and mine?

My machine runs Linux.

To many computer users, Linux is some sort of mystery that can be a lot of work to figure out.

Nothing could be further than the truth.

Today's Linux is nearly indistinguishable from Windows, except for the fact, it isn't full of bugs.

You can get tons of, useful programs for Linux, and most of them are absolutely positively without a doubt 100% free, no strings attached.

In fact, Linux is so versatile, you can actually run it on a Windows machine without it affecting the Windows operating system in any shape of form. This is a perfect scenario if you want to give it a test drive without it changing your machine. You can also try out Linux directly from your CD drive, you don't need to do any installation at all.

What other computer operating system allows you to do that? Not many, that's for sure.

This is precisely what I want to talk about today: How you can begin to explore this fascinating operating system, ditch the unstableness of Windows, and enjoy a computer that is free of all the glitches and hang-ups that you get with Windows.

Today I'm going to talk about Peder Erickson's Guide to Linux Freebies.

This cheap little book will save you thousands of dollars, and thousands of hours digging around to find Linux freebies.

I've scoured the Internet and personally tested every single resource in this valuable guide

Here's a fast taste of what you will discover:

  • The History of Linux
  • What does Linux offer

  • A number of good Linux Distributions

  • Many very useful applications

    • Desktop – the GUI for Linux, and eyecandy

    • Work Applications – what makes your life easier

    • Tons O Games – Waste some time!

  • and some very useful recommendations

So as I sit here working on my Linux computer, wondering what will happen next in the world of Windows, I feel confident that my computer will be working tomorrow. No Blue screen of death. No viruses. No one being able to take my computer down from thousands of miles away... and best of all, it's free!

I love Linux. It is much more secure, it runs smoother, and it looks cooler than Windows.
