It appears that my Oculus DK2 has suffered some damage to the HDMI cable that powers the rifts display. From what I’ve read, this isn’t an uncommon issue. (Why don’t cables have proper stress reduction in place anymore?) Sometime in the next couple of weeks, I’m planning on attempting a repair/reinforcement of the cable end, from what I’ve read, Suguru is a very nice substance for repairing/reinforcing damaged charging cables and the like, so I’m planning on using that. Otherwise, I could get a replacement HDMI cable and connect the rift up with that, and not have to worry about the state of the one that comes with it.
On the upside, the USB cable is fine, though I probably will reinforce that one as well, I’d like this device to work for a nice long time, even though I’m planning on getting the CV1.
